Acceptable Use Policy

What you can and can't use ZeroWidth services for.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the uses of ZeroWidth's products and services that are not permitted, regardless of any other contractual provision. It applies to everyone who uses our services — directly, as a workspace member, or as a guest via a share link.

The short version: don't break the law, don't hurt people, don't break our service.

Prohibited content

You may not use the service to create, store, transmit, or distribute content that:

  • Violates law — including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), unlawful threats, instructions for violence against people or critical infrastructure, fraud, or material that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Harasses, abuses, or threatens individuals, including doxxing, stalking, or coordinated harassment.
  • Promotes discrimination or hatred against people based on protected characteristics.
  • Misleads or impersonates — pretending to be someone you're not in a way designed to deceive, including fake reviews, fake endorsements, or fabricated quotations attributed to real people.
  • Contains malicious code — malware, viruses, ransomware, or any software designed to disable, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
  • Solicits or coordinates illegal activity — drug trafficking, weapons sales, fraud schemes, evasion of sanctions.

Prohibited uses

Beyond the content rules, you may not:

  • Interfere with the service — denial-of-service attacks, traffic flooding, attempts to overwhelm rate limits, scraping at volumes that degrade service for others, or probing infrastructure for vulnerabilities outside an authorized program.
  • Bypass access controls — accessing or attempting to access data, accounts, or resources you're not authorized to reach, or assisting others to do so.
  • Reverse-engineer the service in ways prohibited by your agreement or applicable law.
  • Resell or sublicense the service without our written permission.
  • Exceed plan limits through technical evasion (e.g., creating multiple free-tier accounts to skirt paid features).
  • Use the service for high-risk decisions — automated decisions that materially affect a person's legal rights, employment, healthcare, credit, or housing without human review and a documented appeals process.

AI-specific prohibitions

The service exposes AI features. In addition to the above, you may not use AI outputs from the service to:

  • Generate CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content sexualizing minors under any circumstances.
  • Impersonate real people without their explicit consent (deepfakes, fabricated quotes, synthetic biometric data).
  • Run influence operations — coordinated inauthentic behavior, large-scale political disinformation, fraudulent product reviews.
  • Train competing AI models without our prior written agreement.
  • Provide medical, legal, or financial advice as if it came from a licensed professional, unless you are one and have the necessary safeguards in place.
  • Defeat content provenance — strip watermarks, falsify origin metadata, or repackage AI outputs as human-authored where doing so causes harm.

Customer responsibility

You're responsible for:

  • The content you put into the service.
  • The content you let others (workspace members, guests via share links, API consumers using your keys) put into the service through your account.
  • AI outputs you generate, distribute, or rely on — including reviewing them before any consequential use.
  • Securing your API keys and personal access tokens.

We don't pre-screen content; the service is not a moderator. But we do respond to abuse reports and take enforcement action where the AUP is violated.

Enforcement

If we believe you've violated this AUP, we may — in our discretion and proportional to the severity of the violation:

  1. Notify you and request specific remediation.
  2. Restrict access to a specific feature, workspace, or share link.
  3. Suspend the affected account or workspace.
  4. Terminate the account or master agreement.
  5. Report the violation to law enforcement where required (e.g., CSAM, terrorist content, imminent threats to life).
  6. Cooperate with investigations under lawful process.

For severe or imminent violations (active fraud, CSAM, threats to safety) we may act immediately and notify after the fact.

Reporting violations

To report a suspected AUP violation, email contact@zerowidth.ai with "AUP" in the subject. Include:

  • The URL, workspace slug, or share link involved.
  • A short description of the violation.
  • Any screenshots or supporting evidence.

For copyright complaints we follow the DMCA process; email the same address with "DMCA" in the subject.

Changes

We may update this AUP as the product and threat landscape evolve. Material changes are notified to workspace administrators by email and posted as a banner on this page for 30 days.
